Are there good restaurants open after midnight near Cosmo? I'd love to go see Mirage one last time. He is not as big of a gambler as me though and would love to hear any recommendations other than losing money at a table. My idea is to just sit down at a poker table and lose my money slowly rather than losing it quick at craps or roulette. So, I have a couple questions:ġ) How early can I swing an early check in? Trying to get into the room before a 1pm game.Ģ) What would you recommend we do to keep ourselves going from midnight until we can check in? This is far from our first time in Vegas so don't worry about those first timer recommendations. Having hopefully slept on the long flight from NYC, we will be somewhat rested and ready to drink and gamble a bit. Our plan is, once off the flight, to go to Cosmo and drop our bags off. We, however, arrive at 11:30pm on the 22nd. Only problem is - the comps are for Sunday night (the 23rd) and Monday night (24th). Because I booked so early I was able to swing a two night comp at the Cosmo for what looks like one of the busiest weekends of the year (the When We Were Young music fest, some drag race rally, the football game and it being the weekend before Halloween is all happening) If your work place allows some music, play peppy upbeat numbers that keep you going to stay up.So my brother and I (27 and 30 years old) are coming to Vegas for the Raiders/Texans game on Oct 23rd. Taking a walk in sunlight not only helps you feel more awake but also gives you the much needed break on a tired day. Step outside in the sun to revive your senses. Make sure you keep drinking water to wear off the weariness and reduce the number of yawns. It can prove to be a real killer when you’re tired and under slept. Drink waterĭehydration can cause fatigue. Switch to more engaging work when you feel like dozing off. In 2004, Finnish researchers who studied people working 12-hour night shifts found that monotonous work is as harmful as sleep loss for alertness. Switch tasksĭon’t let your work get monotonous especially on a day after a sleepless night. This slows your heart rate, lowers blood pressure, and improves circulation, ultimately not only helping you to stay up but also aiding mental performance and energy. Take a breatherĭeep breathing raises oxygen levels in your body. Look away from the screen periodically to relax your eyes and get back to work. Looking and concentrating on screens particularly strains eyes, especially on under slept days. Even looking at bright colours can activate the receptors in your brain that alert you to stay awake. Since you’re low on energy with sleep being about the primary thing on your mind, you’re most likely to doze off in dim lights. With the lights off, your eyes feel relaxed. Talk to a fellow colleague – get into an intense discussion and feel your sleepiness vanish! Taking to someone will keep your mind awake, no matter how tired your body might feel. When you just cant stay up any longer, take your mind off work. You may initially fall asleep with ease, but the caffeine in your system could come back to haunt you in the middle of the night. If you keep drinking it into the late afternoon, it will still be in your system by bedtime. It is said to work even better than coffee! 6. Caffeine tends to keep the brain activated for longer than you’d imagine. Moreover, it also serves to be a constant source of glucose to your body – giving you energy that makes up for the loss of sleep. The crunch and the the lingering scent wakes you up. Not only the doctor, apples can even help keeping drowsiness away. Just like when you’re studying for your tests – the extra doses of caffeine ensure that you get through the day without dozing off. Frequenting coffee on a sleep derived day will keep you alert. This trick is as true as the saying ‘old is gold’.
